Spring 2012
From my face-to-face history class:
- Of the 34 students who received a grade, 9 added late and had a GPA of 1.56
- The 25 who were enrolled on the first day had a GPA of 2.48
And from my online student success class (P/NP grading):
- Of the 29 students who received a grade, 8 added via permission number and 4 of them passed for a success rate of 50%
- Of the 21 who did not need a permission number, 15 passed for a success rate of 71%
Fall 2011
From my face-to-face history class:
- Of the 37 students who received a grade, 6 added late and had a GPA of 2.17
- The 31 who were enrolled on the first day had a GPA of 2.74
And from my online student success class (P/NP grading):
- Of the 28 students who received a grade, 5 added via permission number and 4 of them passed for a success rate of 80%
- Of the 23 who did not need a permission number, 15 passed for a success rate of 65%
This is the one class of the first six that had a higher success rate for those who needed a permission number to enroll.
Spring 2011
Here is my data from my face-to-face history class:
- Of the 40 students who received a grade, 8 added the class late and had a GPA of 2.38
- The 32 students who were enrolled on the first day had a GPA of 2.63
And from my online class on online student success:
- Of the 34 students who received a grade, 8 added via permission number and 5 of them passed for a success rate of 62.5%
- The 26 students who enrolled without needing a permission number had a success rate of 65.3% (17 passed)
